Adrian Pasdar: bringing hot (and ambiguously gay) to a new level since Top Gun.

Huh. Nathan Fillion was nearly scammed buying a comic book for his mom.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Huh. Nathan is going to learn a valuable lesson about posting angry.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

If being Malcolm Reynolds has taught me anything, it's to follow my over-developed sense of vengeance.

I know posting angry is terribly unwise and the whole post may come back to bite him in the ass, but that one line is just cracking my shit up.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yes, I just hope he didn't learn anything similar from playing Caleb.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yes, I just hope he didn't learn anything similar from playing Caleb.

Like, to fear women with weird-ass swords?

JohnSweden - Jul 28, 2005 6:32:30 am PDT #3817 of 10001
I can't even.

Yes, I just hope he didn't learn anything similar from playing Caleb.

Paying 20 bucks for your own comic is better than a poke in the eye?

"Being hungover is like winning the lottery, except they pay you in regret!" - T-Rex

Yeah, posting angry may not have been the best idea, but honestly, I think the only way that place stays in business is to grab people who are unaware they are being ripped off. That Serenity comic incident is by no means an isolated one. If that post makes a few more people walk the extra block or two to Whyte Knight and are thus able to avoid getting scammed, I'm glasd he posted it.

Strega - Jul 28, 2005 7:25:28 am PDT #3819 of 10001

its you are there approach owes a bit to Firefly. Unacknowledged on the mini-series DVD though.

Moore's original mission statement for the miniseries describes using a documentary style and hand-held cameras, and extending that look into the FX shots. That was written in early (Jan. or Feb.) 2002. There was probably a "Firefly" pilot script then, but unless Moore was sneaking into Whedon's office and reading his notes, maybe they both just had the same idea. It's really not so groundbreaking that two people couldn't come up with it independently.

Sorry, but you have no idea how tired I am of hearing that.

Ah, Strega. I'm so glad you posted that. I actually spent time last night trying to figure out when things were created/filmed, etc. (to no avail, and, OK, I gave up pretty quickly), because the "he got that from Firefly" assertion has always made me twitch a little.

DXMachina - Jul 28, 2005 7:59:43 am PDT #3821 of 10001
You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

because the "he got that from Firefly" assertion has always made me twitch a little.

I can see how people would see them as visually similar, because it's the same studio doing the effects shots (including putting a cameo of Serenity in the mini-series).
