I just want to thank people for their good thoughts for my friend's mother and to give an update.
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that the tumor was benign. The bad news is that she still hasn't awakened. The doctors are saying that she has had a stroke and they are running tests. I don't know what they can tell before she wakes up.

I never heard of that Passion and Purity book.
I have heard the story of Jim Elliot's life and death though, and Elisabeth Elliot's return to the mission field there. I think it was when I heard their story, that I begged God never to call me to the mission field.
