Somehow no one ever says, "You know, I've always wanted to go to Atlanta."
I'm planning to go to Atlanta in summer 2006! Which I know is, like, over a year away, but it's where RWA National will be, and since I'm not going to be able to make the Reno conference this year for various reasons, I'm already thinking about next year. If it all works out, I'll fly down to Birmingham the weekend before the conference, see the fam and leave Annabel in the care of her doting grandparents, and drive out to Atlanta. Where I will visit other relatives, and Buffistas if so inclined, before the conference starts.
Question for the fashion experts: Is it possible that a woman such as myself, assuming I'd lost 30-40 lbs. and was therefore more or less at my most attractive weight, could look good in a cheongsam? Because I love the look, and they tend to come in those hard-to-find shades of rich red that look gorgeous on olive-toned brunettes. (Funny, that.) However, I'm afraid I'm too broad-shouldered and buxom to pull it off.
I've seen some sexy, voluptuous women who look great in cheongsams. I think you could pull it off. Have you seen the movie
In The Mood?
Cheongsam-arama.
Though, nobody will benefit from comparing themselves to Maggie Cheung.
Timelies. I have worked a million hours today and into the night, but wanted to peek in before bed and say yay Askye on the house, and vw on school; sorry about the water situation. {{{Nora}}} sorry about the asstassticness of the day. And finally, Kara made up a knock knock joke today.
Knock knock
Who's there?
The bear
The bear who?
The bear who goes anywhere he wants to!
Goodnight lovelies. I hope your night is restful and tomorrow is full of peace and blessings.
Deena!
Ginger, I'm in Atlanta a few times a year, give or take. Most of the time it's for hockey. The next time is the 11th-13th of March for Districts. I don't know how much free time I'll have, but you could come watch a game if you're so inclined.
edit: {{{Nora}}} Losing someone tragically sucks. I hope to never experience that again. Much love and peace to you, my dear.

Cool.
I've never actually seen a hockey game in person.
Sorry. I had to put laundry in the dryer. We leave for Charleston SC in the morning and I had no underwear.

This isn't the NHL by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun. 14-16 year old boys from MD will be trying to advance to Nationals, and I'll be trying to avoid the parents from hell. Some of them think their children are better than they actually are, and it's insufferable. I'm not used to it; for the past 5 years, the parents have been terrific.
