Huh. I'd be freaking, too.
Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
ChiKat, I hope it turns out well. I suspected the same when my sis re-met and rather instantly was engaged to her now intended. She was, to put it kindly, miffed when the subject was raised.
When Good Critters Go A Little Bad
Kitty was curled in the nook of my arm, head resting just below my elbow and sleeping rather soundly. Dream growl. I turn a little with thoughts of, "How cute..." Must have, literally, moved a muscle. Said muscle was now chomped firmly, but not painfully, in dream-hunting kitty jaws. Another little growl and then she wakes up. And proceeds to lick my arm clean showing me that it was all an oopsie mistake. Now my arm hurts a little but only from the scratchy tongue. It was cute watching her be all cat-like and predator but taking care not to hurt me.
ION, I should not watch crime shows on bank robbery that are in set Phoenix. Because one of these times? Gonna be the ex's dad and I don't really want to relive that so much.
To recap: really really really fast marriages seem to be happening and my sis at least wasn't pregnant, though offended I asked; my kitty is a less than fierce hunter, but still quite snuggly and soft as rabbit fur; and I still seem to have issues from something that happened a decade ago.
Sleep now.
Nora, I'm so sorry. That's just freaky. And here I was hoping he may get some help. I didn't realize how bad it was.
Someone asked about good companies for renters' insurance. I really like State Farm. Of course, you can't get State Farm in MA, so that may be part of my frustration. But, I always had wonderful luck with them the rest of my life.
I'm up and trying to finish a paper. I hope this goes better than it did last night!
Good luck with the paper, vw!
Cass, that is an adorable story.
I am work and feeling fuzzy around the edges. I'm in my plan period now and have an hour until my first actual class, and I'm wishing I had gotten a bigger coffee right about now. I'm also wishing that they hadn't added another special needs student to my C-block class. No, for those of you read my LJ, this is not the same kid I wrote about last week; this is another one. This in itself is challenging, but I can deal.
What annoys me, though, is that I have a tutor in the class who is all but useless. She's very nice, but she takes no initiative and has no teaching experience at all--she only does what I tell her explicitely to do, and since she shows up late every day I don't even get a chance to talk to her ahead of time. She ends up sitting in the back of the room doing nothing unless I give her instructions, and dammit, when I have 24 students (many with special needs) demanding my attention, I don't have time to give her teacher-lessons!!
Argh.
I'm working with the SPED coordinator to get this problem fixed, but it's irritating me to no end.
Gronklies.
I am staying home from work today with the beginnings of a cold. If I sleep the thing off, chances are I'll feel much better tomorrow. Obviously I'm not going to be doing any heavy packing or house prep, but it might be a good day to go through papers, etc.
{{{Anne}}} Feel better soon, girl. Also, I'll be getting a package in the mail to you later this week. I'm so excited about it! I'm sending you LOTS!
Thanks for the paper good wishes, Kristin. The rough draft is done. Now to send off to my editors for comments while I jump in the shower. Must get butt moving!
I'm sending you LOTS!
Squee!! How exciting!

Yeah, definitely bad in the jump on the tracks in front of a moving train way. It was actually a miracle that he lived as long as he did, to my thinking.

Tom has an agent, who did the dirty work (comparing rates and benefits) for him. Apparantly Massachusetts Fair Coverage Co. (or something like that- basically an insurance company that exists to provide high risk people with insurance) is the only one who will insure us Somervillians at a decent price. Which surprised the agent, since that company is usually the Last Resort, thus more expensive. But the premiums are 30-50% less. Weird.
Shots of slushy cheap vodka were actually much easier than shots of liquid cheap vodka.
That reminds me of "Oh My God, it Burns!"
ETA: unintentional slumbernut!
Well, my work here is done, off to the other work.
I have Commerce Insurance for my car. Like I said earlier, though, no renters' insurance for students in MA. Which I just think is the DUMBEST. LAW. EVAH. And when I have time to deal with it, I just might make some calls and write some nasty letters.
