...because God knows you need some satisfaction in life besides shagging Captain Cardboard! And I never really liked you anyway. And you have stupid hair!

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Aw, man. I would, but the train doesn't take plastic and I spent my only play money until payday on kickass clearance Buffy boots.

Pouts. It's sunny, too.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Morning, peoples. I've actually been up since 9-ish, reading HHGTTG and the first 3/4 of Restaurant at the End of the Universe. I had Cheerios while I was reading, but I really need some protein, so I think I'm going to scramble an egg or two and then finish cleaning my apartment, b/c SA is coming to Cincy tomorrow evening! She's staying with me tomorrow night, I'm taking Tuesday off work to hang out with her, and then she's heading back down to school Tuesday evening.

I forsee sushi, fannish squeeing, and many stories of her travels.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I had toast. And I'm not going out, although the streets are just about clear now. Right now it's gray and just above freezing, so the ice is falling off the trees and whacking the roof. I'm just as happy I didn't try to go out yesterday. My neighbor did and apparently couldn't get back up the driveway and abandoned his car with about two feet sticking out into the street.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have banana bread in the oven. Or muffins, sort of, since I used a bread recipe and cooked it in mini muffin tins. Kind of an experiment - I used a fat-free banana bread recipe, which is actually pretty decent, and substituted maple syrup for half of the sugar and then threw in some dried sour cherries.

I've come to the conclusion that I am constitutionally incapable of following a recipe.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, that's a bummer, Lilty. Oh, well...next time.

Steph, that's going to be much fun! Tell her I said hello.

I really need to make coffee. I keep going to do it and getting sidetracked. See, this is why I need coffee or possibly ritalin.

Yes, absolutely. And soon!

ION, I finally have the Wicked soundtrack. There isn't a synopsis, but from reading the words, I can only gather that they've changed the book a LOT. Which isn't a big deal to me, but it'll make following along tricksy.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah. I thought that what they did with it made it work as a musical in a way that trying to follow the book exactly wouldn't have, but there were a ton of things changed. (The one thing that I did wish they'd kept in was the clock at the beginning , though I think that they had it in some earlier version, because it kept showing up as a theme, in the sets and some of the lines, but it wasn't there to make the theme make as much sense as it could have.)

All is well that ends in pizza.

I saw this on Animal Planet: [link]

Barbecue-type sauces for dog food. Really.

Yep- I think that following it exactly would have made for a very long and clunky musical. But what I'm wondering is if Elphaba dies, because I don't see anyone cast as Dorothy, and I don't see how that scene could be possible without her .

Maybe she just doesn't sing?
