Nice acronym, Mom!

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Yeah. I thought that what they did with it made it work as a musical in a way that trying to follow the book exactly wouldn't have

Yep- I think that following it exactly would have made for a very long and clunky musical. But what I'm wondering is if Elphaba dies, because I don't see anyone cast as Dorothy, and I don't see how that scene could be possible without her .

Maybe she just doesn't sing?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Lilty: Dorothy is refered to, but only appears on stage as a shadow.

Ah. That's actually kind of cool. I think I'm going to just enjoy it for what it is, rather than as an adaptation of the book- my favorite part of the book is the forgiveness/atonement theme, which doesn't look like it's so much the focus of the show.

But I heard Defying Gravity and it rules. Off to listen to the rest in the car. I've been summoned to Mom's house. She's got me a surprise. I can only imagine...

Hmmmm...interesting. I was wondering that too, Lilty. Thanks for answering, Hil.

I get to go see Wicked in March. I'm SO excited. We don't have great seats, but it should be fun anyway. I just hope Emily doesn't have to strangle me because I keep trying to sing along!

I'm not having pancakes with anybody. t pouting with Lilty I am, however, having hash browns with sausage. And I've got coffee and my internet peeps. Life is good.

Oh, and Daniel, I'd consider buying that dog BBQ sauce. Toto will sometimes go a couple of days without eating. If that would help him eat, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Oh, and since I'm nominally brain dead before coffee, I meant to say in my last post:

{{Nora}} I hope your friend gets the help he needs. And, no guilt. Just keep being his friend.

And also:

Happy Birthday, Anne!!!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Happy Birthday, Anne!!

I can't even.

Happy Birthday to Anne!

Still under the weather here, but feeling the beginnings of being on the mend, I hope. Especially since I'm going to drag myself into work tomorrow, regardless.

One of my buds is coming over in a couple of hours to go for coffee. That's motivation enough to get me moving (and also looking outside for the first time in 3 days).
