Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shrift -- I dreamt about you.

You were wearing a shirt that said "Hmm. If I'd known it was this easy, I'd have done it long ago."

Or maybe I dreamed about the shirt, and then you were wearing it. It's really all you did.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

That would be bad. Especially for those of us still stuck at work.

Yes it would. And for those of us stuck here tomorrow, as well. I may have to bring in a book or a computer game.

My poor Big!Boss. His wife's grandfather just died, so they have to make an unplanned trip to WI for the weekend. He's been waiting for the overnight arrivals because his wife's Christmas gift should have arrived via UPS today. It didn't. It went from San Diego to Louisville (this is apparently a normal route?) and is now stuck there due to the weather. This will not be a good weekend for him.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Office closes at 2. Staying to get one last project to boss, because he's out next week.

Hey, it'll only take 15 minutes. I could still be out by 2.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Yep, planning ahead, me. Blame my Dad, whose present when I moved into my first apt was, you guessed it, a fire extinguisher.

Sadly, the local news the last few days has reinforced the need to be prepared. And I don't want the first fire in my new home to be my last one.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Can we trust Hec to lock up?

Sure! Leave your keys with me. Shoo! Go home. I'll park your car and backup your computer too, no problem. Why don't you leave your checkbook with me? I'll balance it for you! You know it would help if you gave me a list of your PINs, and your checking account number. 'Cuz then I could double check online. Oh wait! Before you go, could you sign this real quick? Power of Attorney - no big. Happy Holidays! You'll be so surprised at how much I'll have done by New Year. You just go off and relax. Have some nog and Charlie Brown Christmas. I'll take care of things.

Uhuh.

Do you want me to pick up your Mom at the airport while I'm at it?
