You know what they say about payback? Well I'm the bitch.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

If the giftee is me, I've been sick and so didn't go back to DC when I'd planned. I'll be able to pick up my mail tomorrow morning.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I'm gonna love it and squeeze it and call it Fred. Ok, maybe not Fred, but still.

My Secret Santa (I think I know who it is, based on geography and the getting me this but I don't want to say till I'm more sure) got me an Incredibles T-shirt. The one with just the logo on the front, which I wanted very much and is sofriggincool.

THANK YOU

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

C.Kritsanta struck again.

I am totally bowled over -- it seemed more than enough bounty when Lysana sent me a Due South script, which would have made it a grand year present-wise. But when I got home from travelling last night, there was an innocent little package with a return address of "C.Kritsanta, 123 Foamy Lane, Buffistaville, CA" which I wasn't expecting in the least.

Nor was I expecting to open it and find not just a beautiful little cat-picture box, but a gorgeous cat ring and a scarab bracelet!

Here are the pictures that I posted to my lj: [link]

Thank you, whoever you are. This put the cherry on top of my holiday Sundae.

Thrive to spite them

Oh thank god. I thought I was the only one who hadn't sent their gift yet.

Christmas 2004 was really good to me. Amazon.com's wish list totally worked as a way to give Dad suggestions. He got me Jon Stewart's America the book, which totally blew me away because Dad's very conservative. And Mom rocked there were several small packages to unwrap and all told I had enough Christmas money to get a computer. I bought my last computer in 2000 (I think). Mom's original idea was to hide the gifts and leave clues, but then she just put a rhyme on one card which led us to the "life size" Raggedy Ann and Andy my brother and I got when we were little. The envelope was inside their clothes so my brother and I had to feel up Andy and Ann, which led to a lot of jokes.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

I have a prezzie! From Raquel! The bestest Seekrit Santa there is!! I got Lush stuff so I can be one of the cool kids and finally try bath bombs! And glitter, and chocolate I can't read, and lip balms she made herself, as if she knew how horribly chapped my lips were at this very second! And, best of all, four bee-yoo-tiful pieces of art that I love love love and will be perfect for my very very bare wall, and that I'm going to buy frames for tonight. Thank you so much, Raquel!

So, my Seekrit Santa is the best, even BETTER than libkitty's, which was me, so that's high praise. (Note clever de-masking.) libkitty, I just couldn't wait to say that you are so welcome, and I'm go happy that you liked everything!!!!

ETA: Bwah! I checked my email AFTER posting, and libkitty had already figured me out! So, for the record, demasking was unneeded and that libkitty is smart as a tack!

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Whee! I'm glad you revealed, Lilty. I actually remembered you and was afraid I'd burst with the not telling.

I too am a terrible slacker, but my package should be ready to go out tomorrow. I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Eek! My SS has hit a little snag - I need more of something to complete it, and the store where I can get it is out. So it'll be at least the weekend before I can mail.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I am so brilliant. t /overwheening smugness

Also, and much more importantly, I am so lucky, because Lilty is wonderful.

And in other news, I think I finally get to meet buffistas when I head to the Bay Area, tomorrow! (I actually arrive the following day, as it saves me over $200 to overnight in Seattle. Unfortunately, I won't be there long enough to meet Seattle-istas.)
