Ginger, are you using some special burning software? or the thingie that just lets you copy files onto the CD using Windows Explorer? If it's the latter, have you tried a different CD?
Pro'lly not the problem, but worth checking out....
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Are you copying to read-only CD or re-writable CD?
Thanks for that idea. I was using a new disk and I just replaced it with another one and something seems to be happening.
It's good when things happen.
I'm just afraid to say it's working. I don't want to jinx it.
If it doesn't work, take deep breaths and try making a copy to a separate folder on your hard drive first. Then burn the folder.
FYI, for those travelling, [link] will retreive mail from any POP3 account (which is what most ISPs use).
Thanks for your help last night, guys. It was apparently a defective disk, but since it was brand new, that was probably the last thing I would have thought of without prompting.
Gandalfe, that's a great tip.
You know I don't get bad discs very often anymore, but back in the 4x-8x days there were as many as 5 in 100 or worse.
I wonder how sick of me the CDR makers would be by now if I would have bothered asking for replacements, as per their warrantees?
I signed up for MaGlobe, which seems quite reasonable so far. We'll see how it works from my Mom's house tomorrow!
