According to Comment #19 on the Engadget story:
I've spoken with PalmSource and the CBR article is completely incorrect.
As Shawn and Craig pointed out, the next version of the Palm OS will be based on Linux. But it will still run Palm OS applications and have the Palm OS look and feel.
PalmSource is working to get CBR to retract the article.

Okay, I was haviong a bit of trouble follwing the conversation, or at least the source of irritation. What was the story and what was its significance?

A rumor that the PalmOS was going to go away, leaving Windows Mobile the only option.
Popping in for a recommendation re a pipe dream for dvd playing.
I don't have, and don't want a tv. But, I DO want a dvd changer and a dummy monitor that is not attached to a computer.
Do such things exist?
Where can I begin my research?
All I can find are computer monitors.
What's wrong with a TV? That's the simplest thing to connect to a DVD player. Is there something you need from a monitor that you can't get in a TV? That will help us help you.
