Teppy, you may want to consider a wireless router with a built-in firewall. IMHO, NAT on a home network is a good thing.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I want the iWench.
The discussion of wenches, laptops and boobies in the firefly thread is doing porny things to my brain.
Best of all, it's only an 870kb zip file and you just unzip to a directory and run it.
It looks like Jobs isn't saying when Tiger will ship, except that it's due in the first half of the year.
Thanks, Tom.
Maybe I'll buy Panther (10.3) now for my iBook. I've just discovered (on my Cube) that The Gimp will run on a Mac with 10.3 (with Apple's X11 installed).

eta²: everything else (from Slashdot):
A number of announcements from the Mac World keynote this afternoon. The iPod Shuffle is pack-of-gum sized, no screen, weighs less than an ounce... and no screen. Ships today, $99 for the half gig, $149 for a gig. The Mac Mini is the headless iMac... 6x6x2.5 with all the expected plugs, starting at $499. Lot's of tiger bits, spotlight, virtual folders in Mail.app. iLife '05 will ship Jan 22. iPhoto gets folders and video support. iMovie supports HD. Garageband gets 8 channel recording. iWork includes Keynote 2, and 'Pages' the new word processor and ships the same day as iLife.
It's on the front page of apple.com, too. It's the most adorable computer I've ever seen!
Oh, god, that shuffle is ... something I don't need, but want quite a bit.
It's cheap, but they're selling it without a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Buyers are going to feel like they're being nickeled and dimed, which is something I often feel when I'm dealing with Apple.
