sumi, not surprising. In fact, I thought JJ was treating 5 as the last season? Also, I think I read in interviews with her that she was looking forward to being a SAHM for a bit. But I could be making up that last part.

Saw a link to a completely unsubstantiated rumor, that Rachel Nichols was being groomed to take over. Although I take that with a grain of salt, considering they said the same things about Jack's young partner on 24 S3, I do think the show could survive just as well without JG as with her if they go for a S6.
ETA: Okay, after reading your scifi link, the same part of the RN rumor is there too.

Of course it's too early to tell, but I can't imagine Rachel Nichols fulfilling the spot that Jennifer Garner holds in my heart. Part of that has to do with JG has a sort of ass kickingness about her. And while she doens't do most of her stunts, she looks like she could at least hurt someone.
