The front page of Slashdot has an unfortunate Doctor Who casting spoiler:

"K9, Doctor Who's lovable robotic dog, is returning to the new series with a cameo in season 2."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sean Astin and Jean Smart will be on 24 this season.

Art Crawl!!!

Cool!

Of course, 24 isn't starting 'til January.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

This week's Ask Ausiello column on tvguide.com has a disturbing casting rumor for ER: John Leguizamo will be joining the show for at least 12 eps in a role originally slated for John Stamos.

Heaven help us. Why do I continue to watch this show?

I love him!

I do too, but I really don't see him in a role meant for the other guy.

I'd have been hurt if the other guy had shown up, since I haven't seen any indication he can do anything other than comedy, in 1/2 hour spurts. This guy has done long form and short, and drama as well as the funny.

What is even happening?

John Stamos wasn't bad at drama back when he was on General Hospital. Or maybe I got distracted by the extreme pretty.

Oh definitely, ita. Real guy is much more suited for the show. It's just an odd replacement.

That is my beef. One is not the logical replacement for the other. I have no problem seeing Replacement!Dude on ER. I'm just wondering if there's going to be a major overhaul of the character.
