[NAFDA] The place for casting and other vague spoilers, for those who merely want to wade, not drown, in the spoiler sea. Episode titles, writers, and preview speculation in black font. Exiting cast, TV Guide and other entertainment articles and their discussion white-fonted. Hard core spoilers are not allowed.
There have been reports that the first SPN episode will be called Devil May Care (from casting sides), but apparently Jim Michaels denies it. They change shit a lot anyway.
They're currently casting for Tracy and Irv,
gorgeous badass and manly old friend hunter
respectively.
Sam Heughan cast as Jamie Fraser on
Outlander.
Game of Thrones: Mark Gatiss has been cast. Some speculation on who here.
Also a couple of SPN episode titles:
"I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here"
"Devil May Care"
2.1 episode of Arrow is called "City of Heroes".
Oooooooh. Gatiss will be interesting.
Oh dear: [link]
I love the guy to pieces, but the only actors in
Man of Steel
who wouldn't have blown him off the screen in comparison were the ones who played General Swanwick's googly-eyed assistant and that humongous silent Kryptonian soldier.
It's a shame he wasn't up to play against Routh. I think they could have failed cutely together. Although I've not seen Man Of Steel, I haven't heard anything to make me doubt Cavill's talent. It just doesn't feel like a theatre-worthy story for me.
Cavill's good enough that if he lands the right project, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get an Oscar nomination sometime in the next 10 years. And just about all the other major roles were filled by actors who've already been nominated at least once.
I've seen Hoechlin in other things where he's considerably better when not playing a character that's diametrically opposed to his own personality. But Batman is cut from the same intense-loner-with-traumatizing-past cloth, and much better actors than he have failed miserably in the role. About the only silver linings I can see are (1) his voice is high enough I doubt he could do that ridiculous growly voice that Bale used, and (2) shirtless training montage.
