It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Could'a been worse:

offers also went out to Tony Shalhoub, Robin Williams and John Lithgow

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Tony Danson was really good on Damages. Tony Shalhoub is also really talented. Robin Williams was creepy as fuck on L&O. They could have been interesting choices.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Uh. Okay. I guess I will wait and see on all of that.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

You know, I think I would have preferred Williams or Shaloub. Danson was okay on Damages, he just didn't rock my world. I don't think he has a lot of range. I've seen Shaloub - he definitely has range.

Williams has range when he is properly medicated.

Yeah, you're right. I was just being a little facetious.

For me, the real problem is that I can't look at any of them and immediately see the character - I see the actor and it takes a bit for me to lose the "actor overlay" in the character. Robin Williams can play very creepy, but I've always seen him as at least a little bit creepy anyway, even in his funny roles. I think the first movie I saw him in was Mrs. Doubtfire, which I found extremely creepy and not funny at all. Lithgow creeped me the fuck out on Dexter, but even there it was a couple episodes before my brain stopped going, "Hey, there's John Lithgow!"

While I think Danson can do the job, casting him isn't gonna bring me back to CSI.

Right, and of course Lithgow was just very serious. I don't think those were random choices at all.

However, given how much they wasted the utter coolness of Morpheus, I don't think casting is their problem.
