Friday Night Lights and Good Wife dynamo Scott Porter has joined the cast of Hart of Dixie, the hour-long comedic drama pilot produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and starring Rachel Bilson.
Hart finds Bilson playing Zoe, a young New York City doctor who inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town inhabited by an eclectic group of characters.

William Forsythe has been cast as Rigsby's father on The Mentalist.
Wasn't that Doc Hollywood? Sounds craptastic.
Doctor Who Casting news: James Corden to return as Craig Owens in the new series, plus Hugh Bonneville, David Walliams and Lily Cole.
I think Forsythe is a decent physical match, but I don't know anything about his acting, really. He never struck me one way or another.

Ooh, S. Epatha Merkerson has been cast in a new drama - pilot to be directed by Jonathan Demme. Julie Benz is also in the cast and Jennifer Ehle is too - although I'm not sure she'll be a regular.
