They're completely re-jiggering the US series - they've recast entirely except for the lead and they've moved the show from LA to NYC. I'm thinking that with the different Gene Hunt they may be going for a an early 70s cop movie, Mean Streets, Serpico kind of thing.
Wizard's First Rule - they've changed the name and added cast members. The new name is "Legend of the Seeker" and they've cast Bruce Spence as Zedd, Jay Laga'aia as Chase, a loyal and fearsome member of the Councilor's Guard; and Craig Parker (Haldir from LotR) as Darken Rahl.
