Lyra, that didn't bother me because I saw it as he tried as best he could to keep it a secret, and she figured it out by watching the tape, that he really did not want to show her. Then he did the declaration thing at the door to put some sort of closure on the whole thing, since she knew now, and it was awkward, and weird. I saw it as a way of acknowledging the feelings, while trying to establish a friendliness that was never really in the relationship, and to putting an end to this period in their lives. I don't know, it didn't bother me at all. I actually enjoyed their storyline.
