Did they forget that he became a media darling during his Avengers stint while blue and furry? I remember books from the 80s with crowds of starlets chasing him around in the background. Surely that doesn't just evaporate the instant he switches team books?
It's different now that Hank's had a "secondary mutation" that makes him look like a large cat/bear creature--elongated cat-feet, one fewer finger on his hands/paws, a cat-like muzzle, cat pupils, etc. That's the reason Trish dumped him--the media accepted blue and furry, but now he's substantially less human-looking.
Ah, didn't realize that the story in question came after the writers thought it would be the Cleverest. Thing. EVAH! to make his mutations mirror his codename rather than vice versa. That makes a lot more sense, and moreover I can see why Trish would be put off without public perception being involved at all.
I'm just kind of amazed that people would somehow stumble across that particular fetish in the first place, nevermind develop an entire community dedicated to it.
Yeah, but fetishes, even moreso than non-fetish sexual desire, are completely unreasonable in their origin.
I think it's the what-are-the-odds? factor that's amazing me there. I mean it seems kind of unfair that someone would have their sex drive tuned to such a degree to something that only the most random chance would expose them to in the first place. Getting heated up over S&M or dressing as babies or whatever doesn't seem so odd by comparison, as they're things that I can kind of see a progression leading to.
Movies to be watched in the next week:
Saved!
Can't wait. Really looking forward to it.
Star Trek: Nemesis
I've seen the others. I guess I am much more geek than previous thought.
John Q
Denzel. Must to see and not cut to shit on TBS.
For Queen and Country
Another Denzel, made in England. Hadn't even heard of it until trainee at work said she just got the DVD. I think the only movie of his (besides John Q) that I haven't seen.

Wow. Have you seen
Ricochet
? I remember that having a cool thing at the end.
The Internet tells me that The Grudge kinda sucks. I'm not sure if I believe it - I'm a sucker for creepiness.
In a bizarre twist, tonight both
Time Bandits
and
Flash Gordon
showed up on Showtime OnDemand. Maybe this weekend I'll have myself a double feature.

How soon they forget - "I'm wearing a rubber glove on my head right now and it's fucking great!"
Scifi Wire says that Variety confirms Routh as new Supes and Julian McMahon talks about Dr. Doom's origins -- apparently they are going to differ from the comics-version.
