Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm just kind of amazed that people would somehow stumble across that particular fetish in the first place, nevermind develop an entire community dedicated to it.

Yeah, but fetishes, even moreso than non-fetish sexual desire, are completely unreasonable in their origin.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think it's the what-are-the-odds? factor that's amazing me there. I mean it seems kind of unfair that someone would have their sex drive tuned to such a degree to something that only the most random chance would expose them to in the first place. Getting heated up over S&M or dressing as babies or whatever doesn't seem so odd by comparison, as they're things that I can kind of see a progression leading to.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Movies to be watched in the next week:

Saved! Can't wait. Really looking forward to it.

Star Trek: Nemesis I've seen the others. I guess I am much more geek than previous thought.

John Q Denzel. Must to see and not cut to shit on TBS.

For Queen and Country Another Denzel, made in England. Hadn't even heard of it until trainee at work said she just got the DVD. I think the only movie of his (besides John Q) that I haven't seen.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I think the only movie of his (besides John Q) that I haven't seen.

Wow. Have you seen Ricochet ? I remember that having a cool thing at the end.

Hey. New board.

The Internet tells me that The Grudge kinda sucks. I'm not sure if I believe it - I'm a sucker for creepiness.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

In a bizarre twist, tonight both Time Bandits and Flash Gordon showed up on Showtime OnDemand. Maybe this weekend I'll have myself a double feature.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

I'm just kind of amazed that people would somehow stumble across that particular fetish in the first place, nevermind develop an entire community dedicated to it.

How soon they forget - "I'm wearing a rubber glove on my head right now and it's fucking great!"

Art Crawl!!!

Scifi Wire says that Variety confirms Routh as new Supes and Julian McMahon talks about Dr. Doom's origins -- apparently they are going to differ from the comics-version.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Huh, further down on that page there's a rumor that AA and CC are both in the running for Lois Lane. [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why so many of them effectively twelve years old?
