2005 will see the release of Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee's new movie about gay cowboys played by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. Anne Hathaway (the chick from "The Princess Diaries") and Michelle Williams (the chick from "Dawson's Creek") star as their wives. Also on the cast are Linda Cardellini ("Freaks and Geeks," "Scooby Doo"), and Kate Mara (Vanessa on "Nip/Tuck"). The film's based on the short story of the same name. Apparently, Jake Gyllenhaal got a body double for the nude scenes, but Heath did not.

Anne Hathaway and Bijou Phillips are starring in "Havoc," which should come out late this year. It's about two girls obsessed with gang culture, and there's lots of sex and nudity, and possibly an NC-17 rating. Yay, nakedness!

Back to gay movie news: AICN is reporting on Johnny Depp's new movie Libertine, in which he plays a gay painter or something, and there's "graphic man-kissing."

AICN also has an article on Return of the Living Dead 4 & 5, which should have a lot of gorey goodness; and another article on Matt Stone and Trey Parker wanting to remake their student film "Cannibal: The Musical."

I thought Sally was great too - and deserving of that Oscar. Bette was a bit overwrought for my taste, but those kind of movies are sooooo predictable, and I've only got so much patience for folks on a self-destructive binge. (Watched Less Than Zero on cable the other night and kept thinking of Robert Downey's character "Dude, just die already.")

Caught the briefest of glances at a tv tonight with Seth Green and his "up the creek" cohorts on what looked like an award show. I'm going to guess it had the word 'choice' in the title.

In his commentary for "Can't Hardly Wait" (which is worth owning just for his commentary), during the scene in which he and his friends pull up to the party in a big ol' SUV, Seth admits that the crew had to sit him on a stack of phone books to make sure he was actually visible from outside the car.
