hip deep in pie

I don't think I've seen him in anything, so I'm not sure what to think about that.

This report says the report comes from the News of the World. So not a definitive source.

Thrive to spite them

Mom caught a bit of Army of Darkness when I was tryign to get her universal remote to work... she liked what she saw, which is kind of weird...

And I still can't get this stupid remote to recognize the dvd player, she got it at Christmas and it was working but the batteries ran down. We don't have the documentation but I found a website thanks to Deena, but there aren't any codes for dvd players. In fact there's no information about dvd players at all, it's all just vcrs, cable boxes, and tvs. But there's a button that says dvd on the remote.

I've been trying to just search until the remote works but so far my attempts trying to work the dvd player have just turned off the tv.

Art Crawl!!!

I Netflixed a film he did called "Chopper" where he played this famous Australian inmate and I've seen "Troy" and that's it.

"Chopper" was in general, not my thing but he did do an excellent job as Hector in "Troy".

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I stopped watching Chopper shortly after he whipped his dick out at the bar. I found I didn't like or hate him enough to keep watching -- just a bit of contempt.

Bana was good, though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Today's features: Blade and Hellboy.

Blade was pretty good. It delivered vampires and violence and bad CGI. It's always interesting to see different takes on vampire mythology. Blade is a kickass enough vampire hunter to make we want to see the sequel.

Hellboy was pretty great, though. I liked all the characters a lot more in this one. Hellboy's got this wonderful dry sarcastic wit, and the Hellboy/Liz relationship works a lot better than, say, the Peter/MJ relationship. I don't think the story makes a lick of sense, but that's okay. It's very entertaining and a great comic-book movie. Here's hoping the sequel turns out to be a great movie, period. Also, now I definitely want to see the Blade sequel, helmed by Guillermo del Toro. Oh, and I also want to check out the comic.

Yahoo's source for the story was the APF -- which must be something like Reuters or the AP, perhaps? I don't know. I hadn't heard of it before tonight.

Polter-Cow - Don't get your hopes up about Blade II. It's really really awful. Horrible dialogue, poorly choreographed and filmed fight scenes, a completely silly, unengaging, and poorly-structured plot, plus really bad special effects that look like too much money went into making them without thinking about how they would actually look. And that one vampire chick couldn't act. I was glad when she died. Blade II is not at all similar to Blade I in tone, genre, or even mythology.

The first Blade is a great film. Blade II is one of the worst films I've seen. The only reason to see Blade II is because Wesley Snipes is cool. Yet I'm still excited about Blade III: Trinity, because David Goyer is directing that one.
