Count me in as also a fan of the new threads. I don't post a whole lot in them, but they're enjoyable to read, and I like having a place for shows like House and Bones.

Maybe just, fewer people get the premium channels.

I really like the experimental threads, because now I know where to go to look for discussion of particular shows. A flurry of posts in Nonfiction on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST means everyone's talking about Shear Genius, for instance.
I think they're working really well. For me, anyway.

I don't think I've seen a single show dominate a thread the way Heroes sometimes "took over" Boxed Set.
Heh. There's also Eureka. And when SG? isn't sucking and hasn't been torrented by some...lots of traffic. BSG got lots of traffic too. I didn't count those, just Eureka, and it matched or exceeded Heroes.
It's a perception thing, with recency dominant.

Personally, I like the experimental threads the way they are. I'm mostly in drama, and I don't find any one show dominating, nor do I really see any show with enough conversation to really keep a thread going. I'd rather not have white font, but don't care enough to push strongly on that front, especially since I, too, have noticed people missing that I would otherwise expect to see.
I haven't spent much time in the other experimentals, so I don't have a good feel for how they're working, but I love the effect on Natter and Bitches. I can sort of, kind of keep up now. And even when I'm behind, I like having a better feel for whether to skip or slog.
Or, in short: Yeah Experimentals! Go Experimentals! Or rather, Stay Experimentals!
