Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm not sure why we need to wait for confirmation of Gus's death, either.

I'm far more concerned about Kimi seeing this and getting upset than I am about the possiblilty of Gus and/or his demise being an elaborate ruse.

Because books.

That's actually what I was thinking, too, Trudy. Gus has been a part of this community for a long time, we knew he was ill, and I just can't imagine that she, or anyone on his behalf, would post something like that here if he hadn't passed away.

Its nice if we find his obit and it suggests a charity.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It didn't occur to me that it was a ruse. I was just hoping to find an obit to see if it specified a charity.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Trudy, for the record, that is public information--the site Jessica linked to is asking for a code to prevent script-scraping, but most sites will just provide all the info.

I'm not weighing in on whether or not it's appropriate, just wanting to resolve a misperception.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I but don't feel any need for confirmation. Gus not being here is enough for me to want a thread and enough for me to contribute to a charity in his name. Nobody has asked for anything for themselves as a result of this, so I'm not overly concerned about a ruse.

More because I wanted to find out more about his life away from the board, I did a little poking around for an obituary, and didn't find anything yet. It would be nice to see if someone else finds one.

Thanks, ita.

Didn't mean to cause any offense, Ginger, I was just startled seeing personal information. Thanks for not taking any.

Far far greater risk of hurting someone terribly by posting that than by letting grown-ups figure things out for themselves or via back chanel.

Seriously.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I think this will cause a lot of hurt and dissension in the future days, but I want to pop up and say, thanks Cindy for posting that; I am thinking along the same lines, and I know you've been burned before by Penlind. But I want to ask people to not be offended if people have different reactions to the announcement that Gus died. For some of us it has been shocking; for others it immediately pinged their skeptical antennae. But it doesn't have to become personally divisive.

Trudy, please don't attack Cindy over kimi's feelings. We know Cindy; I have no idea who kimi is.
