47 people wanted to not be in heat and humidity in May.
Is that why they all voted the way they did? I figured some of them may have other criteria on their list too.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Huh, 47 people wanted to not be in heat and humidity in May.
That can't be extrapolated from the results.

True. Nor can we extrapolate that this is not the case. But with ranking, we could! For such situations, where no option gets close to 50% of the vote, was preferential voting designed!!
Nah, just ignore me. I can't attend the next one anyway. Ranking gave us the Sydney Olympics.
Sorry. Stopping now.
Perhaps some people decided that there were other things to consider than the weather.
what are the dates again for the F2F?
I voted for KC instead of NO because a)KC is cheaper and b)I've been to NO and liked it and been to KC and not liked it, so I wanted to give KC a second chance. That said, the heat in NO didn't really enter into it -- I figure it's only three days, and we probably won't be outside THAT much. And I say that as someone who's pretty heat-sensitive.
(I wouldn't have minded ranking, though.)
I didn't vote for NO and I have to admit, the NO heat was a factor in mine; my neuro says it's one of the worst climates in America if you have MS.
Beyond that, other reasons, definitely, but for me, the weather was, in fact, a factor.
I'll hate the weather at that time of year, but plan to be too inebriated to mind all that much. Plus, it's an excuse to wear skimpier clothing.

It's an excellent strategy to cope with losing a vote, and you might get to use it again later in the year.
