I voted for KC instead of NO because a)KC is cheaper and b)I've been to NO and liked it and been to KC and not liked it, so I wanted to give KC a second chance. That said, the heat in NO didn't really enter into it -- I figure it's only three days, and we probably won't be outside THAT much. And I say that as someone who's pretty heat-sensitive.
(I wouldn't have minded ranking, though.)
I didn't vote for NO and I have to admit, the NO heat was a factor in mine; my neuro says it's one of the worst climates in America if you have MS.
Beyond that, other reasons, definitely, but for me, the weather was, in fact, a factor.
I'll hate the weather at that time of year, but plan to be too inebriated to mind all that much. Plus, it's an excuse to wear skimpier clothing.

It's an excellent strategy to cope with losing a vote, and you might get to use it again later in the year.
For all you NO haters:
Long before the Superdome,
Where the Saints of football play,
There's a city where the damned call home,
Hear their hellish rondelet:
New Orleans!
Home of pirates, drunks, and whores...
New Orleans!
Tacky, overpriced souvenir stores...
If you want to go to hell, you should take a trip
To the Sodom and Gomorrah of the Mississip':
New Orleans!
Stinking, rotten, vomiting, vile...
New Orleans!
Putrid, brackish, maggotty, foul...
New Orleans!
Crummy, lousy, rancid and rank...
New Orleans!
The weather was actually pretty pleasant in the corresponding weekend of this past May. Not a guarantee, but it might not be hellish.

I can vouch for this. It was not an issue. Besides, you just pop into a cool old bar and start drinking from noon until 3 until it cools off.
Well, I'm a humidity hater, and I voted for KC, but only b/c KC was the cheapest (as am I). I wasn't voting *against* any of the other choices; I was voting *for* KC.

Besides, I've been to NOLA in mid-August, so I can't imagine that May could be worse than that. And I coped on that trip by being inebriated the entire time, thus not feeling the heat. Or anything else.

It's people like you what cause unrest.
There's no place on earth better for coping via liquor than New Orleans. It makes Vegas look like Prohibition is still in effect.
