Lee - I don't know that I can help on Sunday - I think I will end up on the Russian River being a strong shoulder for a good friend. (Her mom just had a heart attack resulting in the need for a quad-by-pass and while in the hospital they discovered that mom also is in kidney failure and they have started her on dialysis. All this happened while they were at their cabin on the river, so my friend is staying up there while mom is in the hospital - so she is feeling very detatched from life. OK, more than you wanted to know - but there it is).
Anyway, as mentioned, the Oakland airport is VERY public transport accessable - BART and fly is the way to go.
eta - number slut - this is my phone extension at work. The extension of the devil.
Okay, this afternoon I will book us on the 4:10 flight to Burbank, and plan on taking BART to the airport, and then a cab home from there.
The beauty of all of these plans is they can all be changed, even the flight, since it is fully refundable.
And now, I am off to show Nilly Hollywood and then have lunch with Robin.
Also,
David, JZ.... Thank you very much for the offer for Thursday night, I will take you up on it.
Sparky, thanks for your offers, even though I no longer need them. And I know, I must be absolutely crazy to pass up an opportunity to sleep with in the same room as Jess, but this way, no one has to deal with the horrifying, window rattling snoring.
I'll still come over for Friday dinner though, provided that's still on.
wipes away tears of rejection
A F2F question with nothing to do with either of the ones being discussed:
How is the idea of the Halloween in Seattle looking? Because it's the weekend FFoSM comes out, and if I'm up there, I want to try and schedule a signing at the UV Barnes and Noble, or somesuch.
Friday dinner will still be on, Sean. I knew when I saw it that my living room couldn't compete with the offer of an actual bedroom. sigh We'll just have to find another way to make you wish you'd stayed in the East Bay.
SFistas--It's supposed to be in the 60s there. Is that the damp 60s? The windy 60s? I'm bringing layers with long-sleeved shirts, but I'm trying to decide if I need to find room for a jacket, bearing in mind that I usually don't add a jacket to long sleeves until it hits about 40.
Lee, is tonight still on? I'm pretty much a bust for dinner, since I'm operating on fumes here, but I hope the rest is good to go.

Right now it's a gorgeous sunny, slightly breezy 60s. (At least downtown.) However, the fog can roll in very quickly at night and the temperature could drop to 45 faster than you can say "Blue Tourist."
