Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Is 80-90 degrees really prohibitively hot? Even when there are a dozen and three places to duck into to cool off with every step? I mean it's not like we're talking jungle weather (she says having never been to the jungle).

This is my feeling, but I'm used to humid places. It seemed like a lot of people were having trouble with the humidity in DC this weekend, and NOLA would be worse in that respect. (Though I do really want NOLA, I don't want to choose somewhere where that many people will be that uncomfortable.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

FWIW, I'm one of the people who had problems with the humidity, but I would go to NOLA in July if that was the only time available.

What. DX. Said. I would have enjoyed the walking-around-sightseeing part more if it hadn't been so damned hot and humid. (And, yes, if I had packed gym shoes.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Can we include the temperature thing in the city pro/con sheet? So then we can get a bullshit consensus on whether people prefer to be warm or... moderate?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Askye or Hil, did all of the Panda ears get claimed? I'd love a pair if they didn't.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

See, I actually think it would be better than DC, because of all the places on the street sharing the air conditioner.

Art Crawl!!!

I've only ever been to NOLA over Christmas.

So Christmas Eve morning?

The bars are being hosed down. But it was a quiet night.\

(They also thought that it was "cold" -- it was in the 50s.)

How's that? I'm not real familiar with this.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Trudy---did you get your panda headband?

I did. He is not dead.

One of the things we might consider is rather than just proposing cities we could propose to run the thing, like Olympic bids.

That way we wouldn't have a situation where someone unexpectedly (yet valiantly, dear Java) has to put the thing together long distance.

So, rather than saying "Let's go to X" maybe we could shoot towards "I can organize X and here are some prices".

Didn't ND volunteer to organize it, a little earlier? Or was he volunteering for something else? My brain is still a little fuzzy from F2F-lag.
