One of the things we might consider is rather than just proposing cities we could propose to run the thing, like Olympic bids.
That way we wouldn't have a situation where someone unexpectedly (yet valiantly, dear Java) has to put the thing together long distance.
So, rather than saying "Let's go to X" maybe we could shoot towards "I can organize X and here are some prices".
