Though probably the odd overage, here and there, from those that found some change under the cushions, wouldn't be frowned upon?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

To rent a TV? Why on earth? Jeez, you can buy a new one, 27" colour, for $169 at Costco.

Yeah, if it comes to that, free tv for some lucky localista.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm sorry - we're paying WHAT for the penthouse and it might not come with a TV? And if it doesn't we'd have to rent it? First of all, with the amount we're spending over the weekend, they can throw it in. If not, I'm sure a localista would be willing to bring a TV from home.

We probably can't do that. The way that it works in hotels is that they have a pretty exclusive contract with an AV supplier. When Java signed the contract we agreed that we'd use their AV people. That's why the rates are out of control. I used to work for a company that did hotel AV, it's obscene how that industry works.

Do we need to budget a tip for the BT or anyone else?

I'd kinda hope that folks would tip him as they are buying drinks. Right now without a TV rental, which I'm pretty sure we won't have to worry about, we've still got $200 left.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I'm kind of with Aimee on this one. But I can't imagine it won't come without one, since every damned guest bedroom in the hotel certainly comes with one.

Ok, it's looking like there might not be one there. I just called the regular hotel number and if she and I were understanding each other, then the penthouse is more like a meeting room - not a guest room.

I'm thinking I missed this detail. :) Ooops.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

She doesn't know if there's a TV in the room?

Just housekeeping then I guess. What about the people who bring up the food? Do we tip them?
