F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Keep breathing!

Java, thanks for the list of people planning on coming to the F2F and for all you've done to make this happen! Very exciting.

For the record, I'm a DC-ista, not out of town (unless you count the 'burbs as out of town). I am, however, not sure right now whether I'll make it or not, much as I want to. I may be a last-minute gate crasher, but hopefully I'll see y'all there. If I arrive late on Saturday night to the hotel just to stop in, where shall I look for you? Oh, never mind, I'll just ask at the desk for the noisy room where the people are wearing kilts and tiaras and telling porny jokes...

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'm planning on coming, but what's the deal for Thursday night? What are the rates at the hotel if we come down on Thursday? A lot of us did this in LA.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

We won't be easy to miss.

edit: and thanks for the UncleBob-ma yesterday. I just heard from UB and they'll be in town the week before and not the week of. Whee!

Ann, that's a ferret.

For the record, I'm a DC-ista, not out of town (unless you count the 'burbs as out of town).

I live near Dulles, and I'm a localista. So unless you live on the far side of Frederick or its burg (or Annapolis), I'd say you qualify.

Not javachik

Thanks Shari! It's so exciting to see it all coming together! And Lyra Jane and Vortex and Raquel and Fred Pete and ALL the wonderful volunteering localists are the ones who are really going to do most of the work, so, you know, cool group effort.

DX, and all, if you want to stay at the hotel either before or after the blocked rates, Amy (the group sales person) recommends making a reservation over the internet. The only tricky thing is that I hope people don't make reservations for the weekend itself over the internet if they find a lower rate, and they might. Because essentially, the hotel block room are giving us a huge cut on the hosp. suite charges and such. (I guess depending on when you look, rates could be higher over the internet, too.) Amy did mention that they have some big seminar in there on Thursday, but check. eta: single rooms might be lower, but a big block is at the contracted rate.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Huh, that's odd. Most hotels will extend the group rate a day or two on either side of the officially reserved dates, for invididuals arriving early (or staying late).

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

amych, woo! Buffista Uncle Bobma rulz!

We got a rate of $159 for Thursday night, which includes breakfast Friday AM. And it's the same room as our Buffista Block room Fri, Sat, Sun nights, so we don't have to move.

Our wings are not tired

I think part of the question on the internet access is about any software setup.

My experience over the past few years, and this is from quite a few hotels and many Holiday Inns, is that it is simply a DHCP server. Leave all your net settings on Automatic and it will hook right up.

And now my room is booked. I have a flight, and I have a room at the Holiday Inn for the weekend! Woot.

Also, it looks like I'm gonna crash with Meara on Monday night after the F2F, anyone local feel like having a NoiseDesign on their sofa for a night on the 19th, or 20th?
