Early: Where'd she go? Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a space ship. Don't look at me.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

This gets my vote for Stupidest Music List Ever

One Hundred Albums You Should Remove from Your Collection Immediately

I disagree with the entire concept of there being albums you SHOULD or SHOULD NOT own - I mean - who cares? And yet, it exists therefore I link to it.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Yep, it's stupid. I mean, I feel the same hatred towards some of those albums, but others are pretty damn great albums.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Heh. Yeah, it's lame and I really love a lot of the albums on there, but some of the descriptions are kind of funny, like the Sarah McLachlan:

"Flip a coin. You get to keep one. You know it doesn't matter which." Or something to that effect.

But at least I get to keep my Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson CDs! Thank heavens!

but some of the descriptions are kind of funny

Agreed, they are. I am unaffected by the funny due to the Built to Spill and Beastie Boys hate throughout, I think.

Up with the sun

This gets my vote for Stupidest Music List Ever

Let's see... from that list,

I currently own: 13.5 (I have Sarah Maclachlan's live CD.)
Have owned or own on cassette: 8
Have borrowed or otherwise willingly listened to: 6

Damn, that's not even half the list. I need more overrated crap in my record collection!

(And yes, it is a lame list.)

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

I don't think the listmakers were trying to take the wind out of their own sails, but the pics of someone crushing CDs with his Chuck Taylors is worthy of Spinal Tap. "We stomp on clichés and received wisdom!" Anything you say, dude, anything you say.

msbelle, how do you like "Raspberry Girl" & "An Occasional Man"? I picked them all special-like, just for you. (Which doesn't mean you have to like them, I just thought you would.)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I need more overrated crap in my record collection!

Just wait until you get *my* mix CD.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

One Hundred Albums You Should Remove from Your Collection Immediately

Heh, it's deja vu all over again:

[link]

And just because I still feel the same way, here's my comment:

43.The Kinks - Arthur - Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire

Bastard! Lemmee at the tin-earred hack! Soulless cretin! Mutter, mutter, mutter...

(I actually kind of agree with him about Let it Be. They should never have let Phil Spector gets his stringy hands on it.)

Fred Pete - Feb 12, 2004 10:10:58 am PST #941 of 10003
Ann, that's a ferret.

I only have 6 of the 100 on that list, including one on cassette. On the other hand, most my collection would make jaguaro's "One Million Albums You Should Never Buy in the First Place" list.

Some of the comments are funny. Such as --

You don't get laid much, do you?

Songs in A minor is good if you can stand to listen to the same song for 13 tracks.

If you would be unloved and forgotten, be reasonable.

That was an absolutely terrible list. I think my IQ dropped about 7 points from reading it

I'm so glad to have found you- to think I was listening to anything I wanted, for any reason I wanted

Makes me appreciate the Buffistas that much more.

"Why do the facts hate America?" - Jon Stewart

I have 55 of the albums on that list.

And some of them are huge faves with me.

Anyone who says I should toss my copies of Zen Arcade and Tim can BITE ME.
