Wash: I didn't think you were one for rituals and such. Mal: I'm not, but it'll keep the others busy for a while. No reason to concern them with what's to be done.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I LOVE it. You must buy. Like, now.

Are you ready to be strong?

You must buy. Like, now.

Can you write me a note to give my boss?

Dear boss of RIO,

LET THE WOMAN UP, MAN (OR WOMAN)! SHE MUST RUN NOW TO THE NEAREST MUSIC STORE AND PURCHASE THE LATEST FROM S-K. YOU ARE A BIG POOPIEHEAD TO HAVE PREVENTED SUCH ACTION AND I HATES YOU. I WILL BEAT YOU WITH MY GUITAR AND THEN I WILL LAUGH AND LAUGH.

Up with the sun

I've seen S-K live three or four times, and they're always amazing.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Michele, did I see you in a bar in Brooklyn on Tuesday night? I feel guilty for not talking to you, if it was you.

Amazingly, yes, you did, if it was a bar on Atlantic Avenue. I was there with a bunch of co-workers and some other people I didn't know, since a co-worker's visiting sister was having a birthday. So, no foul! I'm looking forward to seeing you sometime this summer as I'm being a little less hibernate-y, though.

Was that originally an official release of some sort?

Yeah -- Come, Come To The Sunset Tree was a vinyl-only, hand-illustrated release for sale at shows. May still be available on the west coast part of the tour, for all I know. (I missed the NY dates for work, so don't think I haven't asked myself if it would be too extreme to go to SF for the dates there. The answer is yes, it would, but it was worth asking.)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Why, Paul? Why?

JohnSweden - Jun 09, 2005 2:29:33 pm PDT #9002 of 10003
I can't even.

Why, Paul? Why?

An entry in the most inappropriate and craziest songlist ever contest? Okay, I got nothing.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. I've already got swing/orchestral versions of several of those since swing covers of heavy metal hits was in vogue during the neo swing era. Plus also Pat Boone's heavy metal/swing album.

The best was "White Wedding" as a swing duet by The New Morty Show. That was a big hit at my wedding reception actually.

I can't even.

I think since Sid Vicious did My Way, it is only fair that Paul do Anarchy in the UK, and I think it snuggles perfectly in between Hello : Lio-NELL and Eyes without a Face : Billy on the album.
