Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Ooh, does not working mean you can get a dog?

(Also - lots of hip-recovery-ma to you!)

Are you ready to be strong?

Ooh, does not working mean you can get a dog?

Yes! Though my boss rightly points out that I should wait till AFTER the honeymoon.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

I mentioned it in Bitches at one point, but I found the Polaris cd "Songs from the Adventures of Pete and Pete". Fun 90's indie rock! I have deemed it my cd of the summer. The second song "She is Staggering" was used all the time on the show as an instrumental, and I think it's the song that's been playing in my head during all the hot, lazy summer afternoons since. It's nice with lyrics, too.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The new Pete & Pete DVD set has some Polaris tracks on it too.

I know! I bought the dvd set, did some googling, then went back to the music store the next day to buy the Polaris cd. They laughed at me.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I should make a "Sleepy Rainy Day But I Have to Work!" mix. It's grey and drizzly out and, as per usual, I'm ready for a nap. So instead of listening to bouncy energetic music, I've been listening to Sketches of Spain, Best of Blue Note, and now Morcheeba. I think bouncy energetic music would just annoy me, but this is perfect, because it matches my tired mellowness and can just wrap around my brain.

Awright! Hec makes the news again: "There is the guy who made a romantic tape called 'You Best Believe I'm in Love' with nothing on it but New York Dolls songs."

Heh. I should go make my own version Right Now!

Rio, I'm sad about the scar tissue and the more surgery and the more recovery. However, this may bring you a new CARE package. Also, excited about (a) your wedding (b) your honeymoon (c) your job change/move (d) impending dog ownership. In short - I am superabundant with Rio excitement.
