Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Thanks for the link, Joe. I think I have a new smartypants secret musician boyfriend. (Though I would be sad to let Joe Pernice go. I can have two, right?). I was going to copy a bunch of the interview - it's so buffista-y. But everyone should just read it. There is talk of porn, pop music and the joys of marriage.

The Kinkster for Governor: "How Hard Could It Be?" His platform: "We will beat back the wussification of Texas if we have to do it one wuss at a time."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Okay, my unusual love songs are loading up now. They should be in the Sent folder.

I threw in three alternates 'cuz I'm generous that way.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sure. Pile the pressure on...

More like a wishy washy inability to just settle on one.

It'll be tomorrow for me. The mp3 I have of my song isn't great, and I need to figure out where the CD is to re-rip it.

Hec's liner notes for one of his alternates:

"My Lady Story" - Antony & the Johnsons. Reminds me here of both Van Morrison & Nina Simone and...I don't know. A castrati Jeff Buckley? But beautiful. Yes, that.

I'd say the love child of Aaron Neville and Bryan Ferry. With a touch of Prince. And the more I listen I think of Donovan and Nick Drake. Where's he from? I get Van more from the music, esp. the flute or recorder or whatever that is. Had to look up the lyrics to follow what he was singing, and yep, it's pretty weird.
