'Out Of Gas'

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Tina, I don't have your mix yet, but mail has been a little slow lately.

Art Crawl!!!

That was a very odd Oscar moment -- but I loved it...even though I knew that his chances of winning against the big sinking ship song were pretty darn slim.

then all three came out together, held hands (with Elliott being the meat of the diva sandwich)

This made me cringe then laugh out loud.

I don't remember seeing it - though I know I must have watched that night because I remember Ben and Matt winning the Oscar for the GWH screenplay. I wasn't a fan of Elliott yet.

Madonna, who presented the award, was funny. She opened the envelope and laughed, "What a surprise!"

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

sending original liner notes or a copy thereof with notes and/or musings - yes.

Oops. Forgot we were doing this. I put my liner notes in the little CD booklet. There isn't much room for comments.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It was Trisha Yearwood and he did look terrified and it was surreal.

I have to say, that in interviews after that event when people said, "Man, that sucks you had to be on stage with somebody like Celine Dion" and Elliott always said, "Actually Celine was really nice to me and went out of her way to make me feel at ease."

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Aw, yay Celine!

Alas, the mix has not yet arrived. Perhaps today!

Ditto! I'd suggest to Hayden that he include a separate sheet for what I'm sure will be an extensive commentary on my mix.

Hayden's comments are in the booklet also.

I was planning on xeroxing them to a larger size, making my marginal notes and sending that on.

I didn't make notes to Hec's liner notes - just copied them for myself and sent them along.

Darn it! I missed a chance to comment on stuff.
