I was gonna not post, but letting go is not my strong suit. Gentle encouragement to anyone who still has CDs from the exchange. I would still like to get the remaining CDs.
And because I have no hope of the track lists making it back with the added feedback, if anyone had feedback on my mix, you can add comments to my LJ entry here [link]
Oh, and by the way, the cool Beatles song for Snobs to like is “Cry Baby Cry,” off Side 4 of the White Album.
Wash and Mal would agree?
Big Star was over once they were on some WB show soundtrack.
They may well have been referring to "That 70's Show", but I have a vague memory of hearing them during an actual WB show -- maybe "Gilmore Girls".
I've got the Pixies ACL on my TiVo. What does your friend look like Mr. Industries?
The
cool Beatles song is Tomorrow Never Knows. No contest.

Hah! I didn't think it was "cool" for Snobs to like ANY Beatles at all.

It's always cool to find the hidden gem, even moreso when the whole catalog is so well known. It validates your discerning ear.
I'm sticking with my quixotic choice, "I Dig A Pony."

Yes! I only know it because an uber-cool music pusher friend put it on a mix for me once.

Actually, it's "Long Long Long," which clearly sets the stage for the dreamy space-rock of Big Star's Sister Lovers. And Lisah, of course Rock Snobs (or "Useless-Americans" in our prefered parlance) can like the Beatles, as long as it's either a) "the only real Beatles albums are Rubber Soul, Revolver, or the White Album, man" or b) "I only listen to the first four albums when the Beatles actually knew how to rock."

Short, goateed, Latino. Front and center a couple of times and off to one side towards the end.

I've always been partial to: "Wouldn't it be great if the Ramones had covered 'Polythene Pam'?"
It's also cool to cite McCartney's bass playing.
My favorite Beatles is "One After 909," especially the early version from Anthology 1.
t hastily hides Abbey Road under the couch cushion....
