Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Up with the sun

if I dig the latest Rilo Kiley CD, would I be pleased with their other releases?

I've heard mixed things about the first one, but "The Execution of All Things" is even better than "More Adventurous." I'm not sure if you got Tina's mix in the swap or not, but it had a song from "The Execution..." on it.

And I'm still trying to figure out when U2 tickets for D.C. go on sale for people not in the fan club.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

What, you had them and lost them, or your source didn't come through?

The source didn't come through- the tickets were very pricey, and he decided to sell two of them on eBay to pay for the other two so his little brother could go. (I don't even buy it, but I'm not going to question, since it was a maybe in the first place.)

I'd go to Garbage, but it's a week before my trip, so I'll be all saving my money and stuff.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The McCartney song "Temporary Secretary" is the wrongest song in Wrongsongville. I love it.

I heard it once on the radio back in '79 or so. LitG made me finally track down the album McCartney II.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

LitG made me finally track down the album McCartney II.

Paul owes me a kickback.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Squeeeeeee!

Guess who just bought (through the good graces of a friend who had the internet pre-sale password) tickets for the September 17th Dead Can Dance show?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Wow, I didn't think those two were working together anymore. Does this perhaps mean a new album as well?

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

I saw Duran Duran last night. It was awesome like an awesome thing. "(Reach Up For the) Sunrise" is my new theme song, and I can't stop listening to it.

Damn, I'd been saving up those screams since I was 11. SIMON, I LOOOOOOOOOVE YOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!

Mashup of The Beatles' 1966 album, Revolver.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

But what is the WORST Bond theme?

Mashup of The Beatles' 1966 album, Revolver.

Two recent themes combined on track 14 of the mashup, "You Only Live Tomorrow", a combination of Nancy Sinatra's "You Only Live Twice" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" -- blechhh!! It's one thing to have a bad idea, but how could the deejay have listened to the finished track and not said, "Okay, that didn't work, back to the drawing board (mixing software, whatever)"? And let me save some trouble for those of you who listen to the first minute or so of it and hate it but think, "maybe it'll get better": it doesn't. At least it's not earwormy, too.

ETA: Just trying to make it easier to find. The change has been made.
