In what circles do I admit my guilty pleasures? Oh, anywhere. I used to be snobby about music back in college, but not so much anymore. I scoff and groan at times, but will also give a sheepish grin before I start singing along or shaking my booty.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I think t gasp! I am leaving off the "song you like by artist you hate" category altogether, in order to fit everything else. I decided I'd much rather let that category go than "guilty pleasure". And I am having the devil's own time finding a song from the year I was born that 1) I like and 2) I own. I may actually have to go buy another CD in order to get a song I'll be happy with, and I was hoping to avoid doing that.

Could I do that? I (just) have room for 20, but I'd rather do "stump Hec & Jon" or "TV theme song."
Those are my two hardest categories, too (artist you hate/song you like & guilty pleasures, natch). So difficult that I haven't filled them yet. But I will persevere. The dude abides.
Well, I haven't cleared it with our benevolent dictator, but it's the only way I can fit the other 19 songs on there.
I had to cut one of the "bonus" categories, but I really wanted to try to stump Hec & Jon. (Although it was a local artist, so I don't know that it would have counted anyway.)
I chose to cut "song you like just for the title." It didn't make me too sad, but I did really like the song.
And I am having the devil's own time finding a song from the year I was born that 1) I like and 2) I own.
What year were you born, Kate? (The answer is going to make me reach for my heart medicine, I know). 1978?

I was thinking "Greatest Hits of the Eighties" would probably have something for her.
PS. You don't get to complain. I had to find something from 1952!
Oh, David. Do you really want to know? Okay, I'll whitefont it to spare the rest of you: 1980 .
1978 is easy. Or, okay, I thought it was easy. Possibly because I've been listening to the song in question a lot lately anyhow.
