I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Good Lilty! I have neither of those!

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Ooo, good one, Lyra Jane!

The acoustic version of Sister Hazel's 'Your Mistake' is good.

I need to stop and go to work or I could do this all day.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Any ideas for strummy strummy aching love songs? Stuff like you might hear at the end of a tv drama to make you cry?

Oh, I've got tons of these. I've made entire tapes of this stuff, though it tends to be a bit more rootsy and a bit less singer/songwriter confessional. Still, plenty strummy. These tapes are all designed to cultivate melancholy.

There are some casting and episode title spoilers for upcoming O.C.s on the season 2 page at TV Tome. Nothing major, but I thought it was worth the heads up.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Strummy strummy death-of-love songs that make me a choky sobbing mess: "Act of Nature" and "Arrow" by Cheryl Wheeler; "Sleeper" and "Here in the Going Going Gone" by Greg Brown.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Haven't they always been here?

Yeeeeeessssssss . . . .

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

"Act of Nature" and "Arrow" by Cheryl Wheeler; "Sleeper" and "Here in the Going Going Gone" by Greg Brown.

Oh yeah, I'll second those, especially "Arrow" and "Here in the Going Going Gone". And I'll add Patty Larkin's "Good Thing", which was always Buffy and Angel's theme song in my head:

"I had dreams like distant thunder
I had hope like a prayer unheard
And this is nothing less than perfect
In a less than perfect world..."

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

One of my faves was hearing "The Darkest Night of All" by Lisa Germano on a Homicide: LOTS episode.
