Wesley: I stabbed you. I should apologize for that. But I'm honestly not sure how. I think it'll just be awkward. Gunn: Good call. Wesley: Okay.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Thanks for the Tori Amos heads-up! I'll have to check that out. "Scarlet's Walk" didn't thrill me, but I always look forward to something new from her.

Also heard this morning that the new Garbage CD is coming out in April. Huzzah!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Indeed. I'll raise your "huzzah!" and give you a "woot!"

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

New Garbage? Whee!

late to the drinking songs listing but kinda tipsy to make up for it

"Say it Ain't So" - Weezer - Fun, singalongable but not so funny, about not wanting to realize you inherited alcoholism from your father and step-father.

"Slow Decent Into Alcoholism" - New Pornagraphers - Just catchy and great.

"The Good Times are Killing Me" - Modest Mouse. Starts with the line "Is there an ashtray in here?"

For the uber depressing drinking mix: "The Bar is a Beautiful Place" - Ryan Adams, "You. Will?" - Bright Eyes, "Whiskey Bottle" "Moonshiner" - Uncle Tupelo, "Between the Bars" "Last Call" - Elliot Smith

These are all from a recent mix I made called Alcamahol. Purpose for mix: going away party. For myself. I am moving to Chi-town. I will be at my new residence in the Edgewater area 'round Feb. 1. I can't believe I am leaving my beloved Lawrence, but I love Chicago and couldn't be more excited.

Also, loved your mix msbelle. I was so happy to get buffista mail!!

eta: more drinking songs, both kinda sad: "Still Be Around" Uncle Tupelo - that contains some of my favorite lines "When the bible is a bottle and the hardwood floor is home/When morning comes twice a day or not at all" and "True to Life" which contains the lines from my current and long-standing tag "True to life is another hangover/True to life is more and more politics" also the lovely "Dancing with the Women at the Bar" Whiskeytown

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I will be at my new residence in the Edgewater area 'round Feb. 1.

Huh. Cool. You might possibly be within walking distance of me. Maybe even closer to aurelia....

Yay! One of my happy thoughts is that I will be in close distance for Buffista F2Fs. I will need insider info on comic shops, record stores, bars, etc....

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Also heard this morning that the new Garbage CD is coming out in April. Huzzah!

Sweet monkey!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Awesome tina, thanks!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For the uber depressing drinking mix:

"Outside This Bar" - American Music Club

Cool on the Chicago move, tina! I can vouch for both the fun and the music to be had there. Check out Kelly Hogan's standing Tuesday night show there. Knut took me and we had a great time.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I can't believe we all forgot to mention Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett.
