SA! You're in London now! I might be sending you email about a cd I'm looking for, and that I would cheerfully send you money via PayPal for.
Oh, which reminds me that I've been looking for a copy of the Divine Comedy's
A Secret History
for a while now, but Amazon says it's out of stock and my local stores only have DC's latest,
Absent Friends.
David, is that something you think might turn up at Amoeba?

I'm certain of it. Also, I own it and could burn it for you.
Oooooh, David, you're like magic. Thank you! Whichever is easiest for you (and if you do end up buying it, let me know and I'll send you a check, of course).

No problem. Just let me know. In fact, I might know about it already.
We're having our 5th annual St. Patrick's party in March. There's a huge parade up the street from us and we're pretty much stuck here for the day, so we started inviting people over and now it's a huge thing. Anyway, now that we're on year 5, I want to do it up right. Invitations (well postcards with maps and the rules), supplies and a playlist with some good drinking songs.
I have this so far:
The Business- Guiness Boys
Mojo Nixon- Gin Guzzlin' Frenzy
The Pogues- Streams of Whiskey
Stuffy Shmitt-Goodnight Irene (I wanted the Habitual Sex Offenders version, but can't find it anywhere)
Dropkick Murphys- Kiss Me I'm !#**@faced!
Lowest of the Low- Letter from Bilbao
Any suggestions?
Atomic Cocktail - Slim Gaillard
Thin Lizzy - "Whiskey in the Jar" (or is that not really about whiskey?)
U2 - "Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World" (about staggering home drunk)
Dead Kennedys - "Too Drunk to Fuck"
...and if you're after a more tasteful version there's a lounge-y cover on the "Nouvelle Vague" album.
Tom Waits: The Piano Has been Drinking and Bad Liver and a Broken Heart
Teenage Fanclub: Alcoholiday (okay, it's not much of a drinking song, but it has a great title. )
Vic Chesnutt: Drunk
