The new Decembrists sounds great. Colin Meloy is doing a solo show here at Cafe DuNord in January. That'll be packed.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Colin is playing at TT's in Cambridge on Jan. 23.
Any huge Robyn Hitchcock fans out there?
Yes.
The Alternative has him as a guest as part of their year-end wrap-up and they're showing lots of otherwise not-so-available videos along with it.
Ooh, cool.
Any huge Robyn Hitchcock fans out there?
I've liked what I heard.
Hey, Mr. Broom, check your file sharing configuration -- I didn't realize that a chunk of my files are only shared with those on my user list. I'm ok with that, actually, but it might be why some people can't see your shared files.
hola, post new years music thread. how did the recharged music swapage go over the holidays? remember to keep them moving.
I haven't sent the ones I got from Jon yet, but I will shortly (meaning: "within the next two weeks").
Thanks, hayden. I've got it set to everyone in my userlist. Anyone who wants to browse me (mrbroom) message through slsk or gimme your handle in some other fashion and we should be in business.
I figure this is likely a lost cause, but if anyone would know how, it's you guys.
I just finally retrieved the contents of my old hard drive off of my folks computer, and I'm finding all of the music I got in college. Now, I should of course get rid of this ill-gotten music, but in the event that I, say, didn't, I'd like to identify some of it. I went through a punk cover phase, and a lot of it is really fun, but I never knew the band that did it. Is there a good online resource where I can look them up? Right now, I've just got 'punk covers' down as the artist.
