Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Ah. Good idea tommyrot. I shall do so when I get home. (I also included lyrics for the non-instrumental songs.)
Kay. Now I'm a little embarrassed that I thought Hec was talking about me when he said editor. And now even more hyperaware of my bad spelling and grammar, if that is possible.
Has anybody heard that mashup of Jay-Z's "Black Album" with the "White Album"? I read something on it, somewhere ...
Yup. It was in this week's issue of RS. It's called the Grey Album and it has Jay-Z spoken word over Beatles tracks. It was given the big thumbs up. Only available online - you can read more about it here.
eta: knew I was going to have to edit this one
That sounds damn cool.
Lyra, another good one is The Sunday's cover of "Wild Horses," which is my favorite cover of that song even though it's missing a verse.
The Sunday's cover of "Wild Horses,"
That makes me sniffly, all b/c of "The Prom."
The way I see it, no one expects doctors to always be in perfect health, so why should editors' personal writing always have to conform to CMOS15?
Little Bird was carseat-dancing to "Here Comes Your Man" today on the way to preschool. D'you think he's too young to see the Pixies if the tour is all-ages? Yeah, I guess he is.

Awww, don't be. Obviously I'm the worst tracker of editors in the history of that past-time.

Yeah. I keep mentally calculating how old the Cramps are and how old Emmett is and hoping I can get him to see one of their Halloween shows at the Fillmore before Lux breaks a hip.
I got Kate's mix yesterday, but have nothing else to say about it because I haven't listened to it yet. Kate - I will print out liner notes for you, no worries.
Also, I got an email from Tommy Keene today! He said he was just surfing the web, found my radio playlists, and wanted to thank me for playing his stuff. He also told me that he's working on a collaborative project with someone I've also played a lot, but he didn't want to talk about it or tell me who for fear of jinxing it. What a tease!
Every once in a while, I get an email like that from an artist and it just makes my day.

Me too. But usually it's to tell me to stop asking them to write songs about penguins.
Yay! Kate likes my CD!
