Darnelle's something of a Buckner vibe, but more maybe Buckner mixed with Garcia Marquez and minus a whole bunch of minor chords.

I love the 3 or 4 MG albums I do have, and I know I'd love the new one, too. Just no time or $$ for it, yet. But thanks for the hearty recommendation! I'm on it.

So last night, the Pixies were awesome -- as expected -- but TV on the Radio blew me away. I'm normally wary of NYC hipster bands because they're so often overhyped, but these guys deserve all the praise I have heard about them. Stellar live, anyhow.

Good lord, if that were true I would hitchhike to NYC and beg for a ticket just to see it. Throwing Muses are my favorite artist I have never seen live. (I keep meaning to see Kristen Hersh, as she does tour, but she's never been here at a good time for me.)
