I just think you're freakin' out 'cause you have to fight someone prettier than you.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Ha! I have the best minion in the world. She just joined the davidbowie.net fan club, and is pre-buying tickets for us as we speak.

Whew! Managed to find post office near new work and get there before they closed, so my mix is in the mail now!

I did not, however, get the creativity or oomph to make a pretty pretty label or anything.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

he was just so normal and sweet and a good listener that seemed interested in what she had to say that she only felt like passing out for a second or two.

Replace your friend with me and David Bowie with John Linnell and that's exactly right.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think you'll like the picture I put in my CD case.

Speaking of nice imagery, has everybody seen this bondage painting of Catwoman tying up Batgirl?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Speaking of nice imagery, has everybody seen this bondage painting of Catwoman tying up Batgirl?

That's rather, um, naughty. I want a bigger image. For research purposes only....

Totally trivial trivia question: I am listening to The Beatles "White Album". (Not italicized because that's not the actual title.) "Honey Pie" is now playing. Was this the first song to have a fake vinyl-record-static sound effect?

Hmmm. I'd bet not, since there was huge wave of straw-boater chic from the mid-to-late sixties with nostalgia for early 20th century culture. So, I'll be there are other references to scratchy old 78s.

Has anybody heard that mashup of Jay-Z's "Black Album" with the "White Album"? I read something on it, somewhere ...

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I was very humble and approaching-the-godhood when I talked to DJ Bonebrake of X. Ditto shaking hands with Jack Kirby.

Mojo Nixon asked me to go on tour with him as his personal masseuse.

I had the good sense to say no.

This is why I love Hec.
