Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Also featuring the refrain "funiculi funicula,"

Funiculi, Funicula
Funiculi, Funiculahahaha

That is catchy.

I think the only Kate Bush song I know is "Running Up That Hill."

What about "Don't Give Up," her duet with Peter Gabriel? And the Holy Modal Rounders dedicated "Boobs a Lot" to her. Okay, that's not true. I'm sorry; I was scarred (in a good way) by her SNL appearance when I was just a wee lad.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Have you seen the movie The Big Picture?

Nope. Does it involve glitter? Glitter I can do. Although my daily style is closer to Old Navy Office Drone these days.

Disintigration by The Cure

I . . . . don't own it. I have owned it in the past, but not right now.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Funiculi Funicula

(From "Funiculi, Funicula," written in 1880 to commemorate the opening of the funicular railway up Mt. Vesuvius. I have a trivial mind.)

What about if I tell you that I have Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Three Imaginary Boys (the old (I think German) pressing, not the new release), and managed to get ahold of not just Standing On A Beach but ALSO Staring At The Sea?

I just didn't like Disintigration that much. I thought it was too mainstream.

That cuts you some slack, but without Disintigration, you don't have the #1 Goth Break-Up Song.

See, I thought that was Voltaire's Owee!

Although when I got divorced, I listened to Weird Al's You don't Love Me Anymore. A lot. Like, a lot a lot.

Piffle. That's the NewSkool break-up song. YeOldeSkool Goth break-up song is "Pictures of You". Or "Song to the Siren" by This Mortal Coil.

Pictures Of You is considered Olde School now? Damn.
