Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have seen Sally Timms do what my former friend Neil called the Sally Dance many times, but a full-scale go-go routine... hm!

Well, it's not really a go-go routine. It is basically the Sally Dance being cut into the general mayhem of the video. Also, many shots of Jon's paunch.

"It's no use growing older if you only learn new ways of misbehaving yourself." - Saki

U.u. = unusual upbringing. I had a friend named Nara when I was a kid.

Oh. OH! The "s" was for plural. Sorry, I can be incredibly a bit slow sometimes.

Thank you all for the recs. For the record, I think GoAA is a good song, otherwise I wouldn't be interested in hearing more from the band - it's just not quite my thing. We'll see how I like the rockier stuff.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I like So Good It Hurts, too, but it's a real departure for the Mekes, what with the 80 alternarock booming snare and gauzy guitar production and the concentration on pure pop. Go for the snarly stuff I mentioned. The Mekes are best when really, really pissed off.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When I was living in Madison I had dinner with the Mekons once. And we almost had a Mekon for the night, but he found an elsewhere to sleep.

I only mention this because at one point in the dinner, another Madisonite asked the Mekons if they had watched the Packers game that day.

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

In The Bleak Midwinter Mollie O'Brien

I long to hear this.

Hi all - it's been a while. I started playing fiddle at Winfield this year. Well, not so much playing as just (I'm really sorry for this) fiddling with it.
