This is from the live version, right?
Dunno, I pulled it off a lyrics site.
I fixed the open italics tag in SA's original post.
Well, I didn't see it. Thanks.
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

It was displaying OK on IE, but not on Firefox.
It's "I used to live alone," "the baffled king" and "holy dove."
Yes. And those lyrics are almost certainly from a different Jeff version, because the recording on "Grace" does not have that final verse.
Hey, back from Thanksgiving in Alabama. Just heard the Talk of the Nation interview: kick ass! Even if the callers were a bit lame (seriously, is Forever Changes a lost album by anyone's standards?). Anyway, nice job. And hi, Tina!
But all I’ve ever learned from love Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew ya
I love this line so much.
All the "Hallelujah" talk finally tempted me to come out of lurkdom with a question that I've wanted to ask for ages: I have a vague recollection of seeing, a long, long time ago (meaning, sometime in the late eighties), a live clip of The Pogues (or perhaps just Shane MacGowan) doing "Hallelujah". However, I can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere. It's possible my (muddled) brain conflated The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl doing "Fairytale of New York", which I saw around the same time, with Kirsty and Happy Mondays doing "Hallelujah" but my memory stubbornly insists that it was MacGowan singing on both?!
Does anyone here have any idea if such a thing ever happened and, if it did, where I might find a clip/mp3/anything of it?
Anything in the way of help would be greatly appreciated, as this is REALLY making me question my sanity. Well, more than usual.
Erm, thanks.
Here's a listing from LeonardCohenFiles.com of all the known covers (44) of "Hallelujah." I don't see the Pogues in here. The Whiffenpoofs did it, though.

Top of the Pops
November 23, 1989. Another TV slot, this time as backing singer with Happy Mondays when they performed Hallelujah. Jakki Brambles and Jenny Powell presenting.
The Pogues never recorded a version of this song to the best of my knowledge.
Hallelujah Lang
Without the proper punctuation, this makes me laugh.
