Mal: We're still flying. Simon: That's not much. Mal: It's enough.

'Serenity'

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In that vein, "Just Got Lucky" by JoBoxers.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Madonna has a gambler song? Whoa.

Also, it should be noted that not every song has to deal with gambling- it's ok just to have it as an overall theme. After all, last week someone threw on Milli Vanilli and we all had ourselves a laugh. It's just my turn to play dj and I selfishly want to hear "Damn, good song!" at least three times over the course of the night.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

"Ace in the Hole."

Could we do a Best of 2004 exchange, with mixes of either our favorite of the year or things we just listened to a lot this year? I'm sure a lot of us will be making that kind of mix anyhow.

I'm definitely making this mix. Although it won't be only songs released in 2004, because I'm sloooooow. It'll be songs *I* found in 2004. So count me in if folks wanta do this.

erinaceous! I hear you won't be singing at the Quimby's event. What up wit dat?

I want to hear you at least recite "A-E-I-O-U (and sometimes Y)" at Quimby's.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Hell, David, you can hear me do that just about any day.

Well, except for, you know, I'm in Salt Lake.

Would you like the radio edit, the album version, or the extended remix?

And, while we're at it, anyone have the Feeling Cavalier album on CD? I'll trade you for Vitamin Z's Rites of Passage.
